Concert in cooperation with International Holland Music Sessions II
Joseph Haydn is a pioneer in several music genres. Beside the symphonies and string quartets he intensively struggled for the future of the piano trio, ergo the renewed trio sonata. Many authors of the 19th century followed in Haydn‘s footsteps. In the Works of the 20th century occurred further innovations. The pieces of today’s concert bring three original poetics: the introspective Trio in A minor by Maurice Ravel, the resounding piece Portrait of Light by Sam Wamper and the expressive and tragic Trio in E minor by Dmitri Shostakovich.
