Chadwick Paderewski Moncayo Zyman Márquez
The American composer George Whitefield Chadwick is a personality not much known in our region. His work would deserve more attention from the proud Europeans. The piece Jubilee is the first part of the cycle Symphonic Sketches, in which Chadwick reacts to some uncommon impulses. Ignacy Jan Paderewski was one of the most outstanding pianistic and pedagogic personalities of the 19th century, who made outstanding contribution to the editing and promotion of the work of Frédéric Chopin. The piece Huapango by José Pablo Moncayo and the compositions by Samuel Zyman and Arturo Márquez are examples of assertive promotion of ethnic (Mexican and Maya) music in the 20th century.
